Coaching Requirements - last updated January 1, 2024
All coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers are required to pass background screenings, and must complete abuse prevention training. Both background screenings and abuse prevention training are required every two years.
If you are selected as a coach or assistant coach, please be advised that any adult who participates in practices and games must go through the background screening and abuse prevention training. This includes team managers, or other responsible adults who spend time in the dugout or assisting children other than their own within the capacity of the sport.
These policies are meant for the safety of all players, coaches, parents, and officials. Adults who have not completed both current background checks and abuse prevention training prior to the beginning of the season will not be allowed to participate with the team in an official capacity until these requirements are met. Coaches and officials who knowingly do not enforce these rules are subject to suspension and/or removal from the program.
Current background and abuse prevention statuses will be sent to coaches no later than March 28th. If necessary, updated background checks must be submitted no later than April 1, 2024. Abuse prevention training must be completed no later than April 5, 2024.
